The BRITE Consortium
The emerging "EU Company Law" calls for a coordinated effort of broadly representative entities from the Community nations. Indeed, all of the objectives of BRITE, from technological and semantic interoperability to organisational interoperability throughout Europe, are only achievable through the mobilization of a critical mass of actors from each of the key sectors addressed - research, industry, and government.
The BRITE Consortium is composed of:
- The business registers, coordinated by the European Business Register EEIG: Bolagsverket (Sweden), Brønnøysundregistrene (Norway), the Companies Registration Office (Ireland), the Colegio de Registradores (Spain), the Danish Commerce and Companies Agency (Denmark), the Chamber of Commerce of Venice (Italy), the Justizministerium des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen (Germany), the Centralen Registar na Republika Makedonija (FYROM), and the Chamber of Commerce of Milan (Italy);
- The technical partners of the business registers: The companies Enterprise Registry Solutions (Ireland), TB-Solutions (Spain), InfoCamere (Italy), SIA Lursoft IT (Latvia);
- The core research and technological partners: The German Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), the University of Koblenz-Landau (Germany), Metaware S.p.A. (Italy), Adobe Systems Software Ireland Ltd. (Ireland), The Knowledge Discovery and Delivery Laboratory of the University of Pisa (Italy), and Software AG (Germany);
- Two international research institutions in the areas of financial regulation, company law and corporate governance: The Financial Law Institute (FLI) of the University of Ghent (Belgium), and the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI - Belgium).
The BRITE Project is coordinated by Mr. Vito Giannella (European Business Register).
